Role: Permanent position
Hours: Monday-Friday, 08:30-17:00, with a half day on Friday
Salary: Up to £60,000
Role Overview
- To effectively manage the Supply Chain function in accordance with company procedures and the agreed Key Performance Indicators.
- Create, issue and control production plans to ensure order fulfilment on-time-in-full delivery Learn/Review current manual planning process to improve.
- Improve the planning process, through training of team members and looking to automate to the existing manual processes.
- To own the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning process and ensure its effectiveness across the business.
- Align the Supply Chain including Purchasing, Stores, Goods In, Planning and Shipping to meet the current operational needs and future strategic direction.
- To provide Purchasing expertise and support to meet company financial targets and Customer Service levels and maintain Inventory to budget, ensure all functions are carried out in an effective manner, meeting company service levels.
- To set challenging, value adding targets, report performance and drive Supply Chain business improvement initiatives.
- This role will include a level of transitional tactical purchasing.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the team of Buyers, Planning, Stores, Shipping and Goods in, with the Stores Team Leader, ensuring efficient working practices, simplification of process and continued staff development.
- Manage of existing Supply Chain KPIs of PPV, on time delivery, and inventory turns and work to create/manage to additional metrics to help drive higher level business results.
- Ensure timely and conforming product manufacture through controlled and optimised procurement / planning practices ensuring stock and work in progress are kept to minimum shortage free levels and in line with departmental KPI's.
- Ensure inventory is managed to ensure maximum stock accuracy, minimum stock levels, within budget, to meet business performance targets and minimum scrap and obsolescence.
- Prioritise and adjust department workload to support the overall needs of the production plan.
- Identify and select new or replacement suppliers, ensuring they meet Quality and Financial criteria.
- Actively assist in the control of stock levels to achieve company stock turn & working capital objectives.
- As a key member of the Operations Management Team, provide clear direction on achieving near term and long terms operational objectives and goals.
- Monitor, benchmark and set challenging yet ultimately achievable goals and targets for all Supply Chain functions, based on sound and proven industry best practice and with an aim of developing a culture of continuous improvement.
Experience
- Proven Supply Chain Management experience in an engineering / manufacturing biased industry.
- Manufacturing background within the electronic sector. (desirable)
- Preferable experience working in an organisation utilising Lean Manufacturing techniques. (desirable)
- Proven experience of cost reduction techniques.
