Location: Orpington, 100% on-site
Status: Temporary 3-month assignment (absence cover)
Start: ASAP
Working hours: 8am - 4.30pm (8h shift) Monday - Friday

Supply Chain Manager - What You'll be Doing:
As Supply Chain Manager you'll be responsible for on time in full delivery of products to customer from procurement to planning manufacturing and ending at dispatch. Focus on achieving quality of goods inwards and timeliness of delivery to and from site. As we have a variety of different supplier types, an agile approach to dealing with different fields is required to get the most out of the suppliers. Your remit will cover the purchasing team, production planning team as well as the stores and dispatch teams.
Supply Chain Manager - Responsibilities:
- Achieve key targets set by the Operations Manager including on-time delivery, supplier performance and evaluation, stock accuracy, and inventory levels.
- Mitigate price increases and monitor PPV using techniques within the team and demonstrate the results to key stakeholders.
- Manage supplier risk in and out of the business.
- Ensure the Supply Chain can support and keep up with rapid growth of the business.
- Ensure that the team adheres to health and safety policies and procedures.
- Working with the Operation Manager, to create and implement strategies which meet business objectives.
- Provide monthly reports on the performance of the Supply Chain function to the wider business.
- Determine and manage Key Metrics for Planning, Purchasing and Stores that enable the teams to meet targets and continually improve in the way they operate.
- Analyse data from the functions to identify where improvements can be made in the processes.
- Manage & lead the S&OP process.
- Work with the buyers to regularly review contracts; manage supplier relationships and performance.
- Control stock turns to enable the organization to operate in line with best in practice.
- Manage the risk of suppliers to the business using on site auditing, supplier evaluation and supplier KPIs.
- Act as a key link to Engineering on NPD projects.
- Oversee component and product storage, handling, and distribution, including freight forwarders and couriers.
- Support regulatory requirements that impact the company.
Supply Chain Manager - The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:
- Have a good understanding of ERP systems.
- Have great coaching and staff development skills.
- Work with other departments to operate effectively and efficiently.
- Communicate across all departments effectively within the organization.
- Be comfortable engaging and negotiating with a variety of suppliers from different industries.
- Experience in a Supply Chain role dealing with electronics, metal fabricators, optics and plastic fabricators is desired.
- Good technical background in manufacturing (not essential but desirable)
- Degree, CIPS qualification, Diploma or equivalent (not essential but desirable)
- Has experience in mitigating risk within a Supply Chain.
- Excellent understanding of MRP, ERP systems
- Excellent communication skills.
- Solid IT skills
- Great negotiation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Travel will be required from time to time in UK, Europe and sometimes worldwide.
