Job description
- Experience in a similar role desirable, with a minimum expectation of having worked at senior buyer level for 3+ years and managed a small team
- (M)CIPS qualified essential
- Procurement experience within engineering and manufacturing essential
- Sound working knowledge and experience within MRP modules, of wider enterprise programs
- Responsible for ensuring allocated tasks are conducted in a safe manner in accordance with applicable standards, company procedures/policies. Ensuring no activity by you or any colleague is conducted that may put any person at risk, directly or indirectly or cause any damage or pollution to the environment. Also, any allocated equipment, tools etc are used in a safe and correct manner and not subjected to misuse or abuse.
- Ensure all suppliers are on-boarded in accordance with Group supplier policies and maintained throughout the relationship
- Develop a Group-wide procurement strategy, with full appreciation of our international and multi-dimensional business requirements in collaboration with all group functions an international locations
- Develop, maintain and execute on an ever-green pipeline of direct & indirect procurement spend reduction initiatives
- Support the product development and engineering teams, in component selection and procurement with VAVE and new product development projects to meet their specific aims
- Support the profitability development of our projects-based business, by collaborating with project managers on positive recovered project margin initiatives
- Develop Group-Wide key component stocking requirements to meet current and anticipated product demand profile by working in close collaboration with commercials and production teams
- The development of supplier performance KPI’s and associated management plans
- Conduct supplier research and lead negotiations towards sourcing best value, best quality and best service levels
