Purchasing Manager, Preston, up to £55k
My client is an extremely successful, family run distribution company who ship products worldwide and have been established for over 50 years.
They are looking to recruit a Purchasing Manager for their Head Office in Preston.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an ever-growing business!
Duties include;
- Managing a team of 5
- Monitoring workloads, delegating tasks
- Managing over 200 suppliers, monitor performance, negotiate costs and time-frames
- Monitoring stock levels and spending
- Monitoring performance of suppliers, and procure new suppliers when needed.
- Managing all aspects of purchasing, including products, freight, and duty costs.
- Managing import shipments, ensuring that orders are assembled to a certain level to achieve the most economical way of shipping goods
- Communicating and planning delivery schedules.
- Catalogue pricing and be accountable for gathering product information, including calculating buying/selling costs and margins for around 250-300 product groups.
You must have sound Excel knowledge to organise and present data. Familiarity with Access and pgAdminIII SQL would also be beneficial.
