Reed Procurement & Supply Chainare currently supporting a robust, prospering manufacturing company in their search for a Supply Chain Manager to join the team.
As the Supply Chain Manager you will oversee Production, Purchasing, Warehousing and Distribution to limit costs and improve accuracy, customer service and safety. Examining existing procedures, you will streamline processes where necessary to meet product distribution needs cost effectively.
Duties:
- Review or update Supply Chain practices in accordance with new or changing environmental policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
- Select transportation routes to maximize economy by combining shipments or consolidating warehousing and distribution.
- Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers, vendors and transport providers.
- Monitor forecasts and quotas to identify changes or to determine their effect on Supply Chain activities.
- Meet with suppliers.
- Implement new or improved Supply Chain processes.
- Define performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of Supply Chain factors, such as product cost or quality.
- Analyze inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, reduce waste, or optimize customer service.
- Develop procedures for coordination of Supply Chain management with other functional areas, such as sales, marketing, finance, production, or quality assurance.
- Identify opportunities to reuse or recycle materials to minimize consumption of new materials, minimize waste, or to convert wastes to by-products.
- Locate or select biodegradable, non-toxic, or other environmentally friendly raw materials and end products.
Requirements
- Proven Supply Chain experience in Manufacturing
- Knowledge of construction
- Transportation experience
- Educated to Degree level
- Commutable distance to East Ham for office based 5-day working week
