Job Description
Orion Group are working with a global manufacturing client who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their team.
The Supply Chain Manager will play a crucial role in optimizing and managing the end-to-end Supply Chain operations. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of Supply Chain management principles, logistics, and procurement.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive Supply Chain strategy aligned with the company's overall objectives.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to forecast demand, identify potential risks, and create contingency plans.
- Oversee the procurement process, including supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management.
- Manage transportation, distribution, and warehousing activities to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
- Oversee and coordinate import and export activities, ensuring compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws.
- Implement best practices to optimize costs, lead times, and quality of materials.
- Evaluate and select third-party logistics partners to enhance efficiency.
- Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance Supply Chain efficiency.
- Ability to build strong relationships with suppliers, distributors, and internal teams to enhance collaboration and communication.
- Negotiate and manage contracts with transportation providers to optimize costs and service levels.
- Work closely with international suppliers to optimize shipment schedules, coordinate inbound logistics, and manage supplier compliance with international trade regulations.
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within a large manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of Supply Chain principles, logistics, procurement and inventory management.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- In-depth knowledge of logistics operations, transportation management, and international trade compliance.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
