Position Summary and Objectives
The Site Supply Chain Manager role is the Supply Chain leader at the manufacturing site, responsible for Production Planning & Scheduling and Materials Planning. The success of this role will be aligned with and measured to achieve our Quality, Service and Cost priorities.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Represents the Supply Chain function on the Site Leadership senior staff, including performance reporting, budget management, strategy contribution, decision-making and communications.
- Provides functional strategy to guide the daily execution, performance improvement and career development of the Production Planning & Scheduling and Materials Planning.
- Level loading of the production and alignment of the inventory impact
- Analysis of demand patterns together with demand planning to achieve a smooth production plan
- Setup of a feasible production schedule, re. capacity change overs, shift models, etc.
- Daily alignment with manufacturing and deviation management
- Assure material availability at site
- Control inventory levels by defining clear max inventory levels and manage to those
- First level of escalation and management of supply component interruptions
- Maintain master data – MOQ’s (joint), safety stock, min/max
- Raw Material Inventory Health (E&O, MOQs, SS)
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or related field is required. Master of Business Administration (MBA) or other advanced degree preferred.
- Previous people management experience.
- High degree of personal initiative and self-motivation. Pro-active, with a bias for action.
- Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to multitask.
- Demonstrate Thermo Fisher Scientific values – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation and Involvement.
- Strong PPI, Lean and or Six Sigma working experience with proven achievement of continuous improvement through utilization of Lean tools.
- Strong project management and team leadership skills with the ability to develop strong support for change
- Demonstrated experience of optimizing inventory turns by understanding ABC classifications, MOQ and lead time optimization. Experience with strategies to eliminate E&O.
- Ability to define, lead and implement benchmark Supply Chain processes (stocking strategy, stocking parameters, Kanban, Sales Inventory & Operations Planning).
- Experience in implementing/improving existing SIOP.
- Self-Starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications and Requirements
- APICS strongly preferred.
- Green/Black Belt.
- Lean Manufacturing certification.
- Ability to effectively work with teams including design, development, marketing and customer service to develop Supply Chain requirements to support material flow optimization.
