Supply Chain Planner, Buffers, MF59, Secondary Production

Department Division

A. Job Summary

To develop and maintain production plans for the Liverpool Buffer and MF59 operations which fulfil the requirements of the monovalent and blending plan, considering all aspects of capacity, materials, regulatory approvals.

To develop and maintain production plans for the Liverpool Fill/Finish operations which fulfil commercial requirements, considering all aspects of capacity, materials, regulatory approvals.

To communicate the plans to stakeholders on and off-site highlighting risks, opportunities, assumptions and options.

Replenishment and stockholding of all production raw materials required to meet the buffer, blend and Fill/Finish plans.

Replenishment and stockholding of all printed packaging materials to support Fill/Finish plans.

Responsible for Supply Chain Pandemic preparedness relating to incoming materials, MF59 and secondary planning activities. Highlighting risks, opportunities, assumptions and options. Responsible to the maintenance and upkeep of the Annex 1. Document.

Closely collaborate with site planner and material planner to ensure all changes are captured and risks highlighted in a timely manner.

B. Principal Accountabilities

1. Define and manage the Liverpool buffer and MF59 plan (s)

  • Review monovalent and blending requirements and produce buffer and MF59 manufacturing plans to support these requirements.
  • Utilise SAP Master data to drive material requirements for in-house buffers and MF59.
  • Capacity level the plan to ensure work centre is not over-loaded.
  • Facilitate a formulation plan commitment meeting with the manufacturing areas.
  • Proactively manage and communicate risks and consequences associated with plan.
  • Proactively manage material stocks to ensure minimal write-off.
  • Release Process Orders and track their progress against plan.
  • Review the BOM versus consumption in process orders to highlight any discrepancies or required changes.
  • Set process orders to “Technically Complete” in SAP orders once all required checks have been made.
  • Attend daily manufacturing meetings and escalate any issues as required.
  • Actively participate and drive batch release of all in-house buffers and MF59 to support further processing of material.

2. Define and manage the Liverpool Fill/Finish plan (s)

  • Assess all campaign plans in the S&OP horizon and ensure plans fits with available capacity
  • Review plans in Rapid Response to ensure they are in-line with capacity and are driving correct requirements in SAP.
  • Convert and release SAP planned orders to support each manufacturing process in the Fill/Finish area.
  • Ensure plan amendments and batch splits are reflected in Rapid Response to ensure plans are correct and aligned.
  • Facilitate the Fill/Finish plan commitment meeting with the manufacturing areas.
  • Proactively manage and communicate risks and consequences associated with plan
  • Review the BOM versus consumption in process orders to highlight any discrepancies or required changes
  • Set process orders to “Technically Complete” in SAP orders once all required checks have been made
  • Actively participate and drive batch release of Fill/Finish material to support further processing.

3. Materials replenishment

  • Responsible for the upkeep of SAP MRP master data
  • Using SAP, define a materials delivery schedule which support the buffer, blend, MF59 and Liverpool Fill Finish plans, taking account of any planned material changes.
  • Place orders with suppliers to replenish materials in line with agreed procurement specifications, pricing, lead times and shelf life.
  • Provide monthly forecasts to key vendors of future procurement needs
  • Define and implement vendor communication processes which provide positive assurance of future deliveries and early warning of potential issues.
  • Optimise inventory levels to minimise expiry of materials, escalate any potential exposures and utilise SAP functionality (E.G Independent requirements) to drive accurate plans.
  • Support the raw material planner by taking ownership of other MRP controllers as required.
  • Provide input to S&OP on material write-off exposure.

4. Incoming materials/Secondary planning Pandemic preparedness

  • Responsible for pandemic material reporting from the Liverpool Site for BOM and Non-BOM materials.
  • Communicate any new or amended contract details to procurement.
  • Ensure manufacturing teams are aligned with Pandemic plan, escalate any issues.
  • Participation in the Pandemic S&OP process in alignment with the site pandemic strategy.

5. Contribute to overall Supply Chain functional excellence

  • Input data to S&OP and GSRM process as required
  • Facilitate the cross functional Pre-S&OP meeting and input any points of escalation in the S&OP meeting
  • Initiate and implement process improvements to ensure we have value adding processes
  • Ownership of the Quality Notification process for all buffer and MF59 raw materials
  • Ownership of the Quality Notification process for all Fill/Finish raw materials and packaging
  • Represent Supply Chain at operational meetings and lead Supply Chain topics
  • Provide cover as required
  • Take on an appropriate share of departmental support activities (training, SAP data housekeeping, new materials introduction, lead one of the weekly processes)
  • Evaluate and Implement Change Control / DR actions which impact Supply Chain Materials
  • And other job duties that may be assigned from time to time.

D. Scope/Accountability

The role holder is responsible for:

  • Ensuring there are no gaps in manufacturing due to lack of inventory.
  • Ensuring safety stock levels are continuously reviewed against demand.
  • Ensuring Fill/Finish raw material stock levels are maintained and adjusted accordingly.
  • Monitoring Manufacturing Schedule adherence – accuracy to plan
  • Orders of annual value – approx. £5m
  • DRs and/or CCs that are relevant to Supply Chain processes.
  • Representation of the Supply Chain department at levels across the business
  • Integrity of data for Supply Chain pandemic data
  • The role holder is the day to day representative of Seqirus to key suppliers and is responsible for the professionalism of the Seqirus – Supplier relationship

E. Impact/Influence/Liaison

Liaising with suppliers to ensure delivery dates are met. Influencing suppliers if issues are faced. Escalation where appropriate

Commitment to plans from the manufacturing process leads

F. Key Relationships

Stakeholders – reporting to Senior Supply Chain Planning Manager. Interaction with head of Supply Chain and Manufacturing Process Leads, Batch Release, Global planning

G. Decision Making

Ownership of safety Stocks with accountability to review levels and make recommendations for change as appropriate.

Capable of making decisions required to produce the correct plan priorities for manufacture and release.

Ability to prioritise the release of product for further processing as part of the Liverpool Batch Release process.

H. Innovation

Initiate and implement process improvements to ensure we have value adding processes

J. Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Degree in suitable discipline or experience in a Supply Chain role
  • SAP experience would be an advantage
  • Confident Excel user
  • Commercially astute
  • Self-starter and driven, demonstrating accountable behaviours for supply issues.
  • Able get accurate information from a variety of sources and make appropriate decision in a logical manner
  • Ability to work with significant independence in a small team environment
  • Detail conscious and numerically accurate
  • Able to build productive and professional relationships with suppliers
  • Able to develop ways of working for self and other functions which continuously improve operations

K. Minimum Education Requirements

Degree preferred but not essential.

L. Minimum Experience Requirements

Demonstrated ability to be proactive, drive results and attention to detail.

Experience in Supply Chain would be preferred.

Industry knowledge would be advantageous.
