Job description

Do you take a trauma informed approach with children who have faced adversity in their lives?

We provide warm, safe caring and therapeutic homes for Children who cannot live with their families. We are committed to the Children within our care, we support them to recover, create opportunities and give them stability to form safe relationships. We strive to create a place of safety with specialist Support workers that underpin the values and ethos of a nurturing organisation.

Shifts pattern conducive to high staffing levels and high staff welfare with Morning Afternoon or night sleep in shifts available

Opportunity to earn up to a further £10,504 per year through 2 sleeping night shifts per week.

Key Responsibilities/ Skills:

  • Following all company policies and procedures in order to keep everyone safe and provide quality care including the staff code of conduct
  • Upholding and understanding relevant legislation such as the Supported Housing Regulations and in particular the Quality standards
  • Promote quality of life satisfaction through individual support planning, empowerment, promoting life skills, positive, preventative approach and promoting development of managed risk
  • To encourage and facilitate individuality, confidence and self-esteem to achieve the best outcomes for our Children using trauma informed approaches to care
  • Working in partnership with team members and external agencies to ensure safeguarding
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Reliable shift attendance and undertaking of duties
  • Comprehensive understanding and willingness to undertake care planning
  • Ensuring clean and pleasant home environments in each home
  • Willing to undertake the training provided and work towards the mandatory qualifications in this sector Diploma Residential Care CYP within agreed timescales
  • Undertaking shift work we are open 365 days of the year for our children and staff work on a rota system over all hours, generally 8 hour shifts with an unpaid break, covering evenings and weekends.

Experience/ Qualifications

  • Drivers licence desirable
  • Experience and understanding of Safeguarding and Equality
  • Experience of working directly with children
  • Understanding of child development
  • Understanding of the impact of trauma and ACE'S
  • Resilient and professional attitudes to caring for others and maintaining the best standards
  • Diploma in Children's residential care Level 3 / 4 or are you willing to work towards?
  • Those with previous relevant experience or careers particularly welcome: such as psychology/ clinical roles/ education roles/ adult care/ health care roles/ early years
