Job description

Is your career in care as rewarding as it could be? Are you frustrated with unrealistic schedules that leave no time for the people you support?

Why not join MacIntyre? You will work with the same people regularly and have the opportunity to build long term life changing relationships.

We're looking for full-time and part-timeSupport Workers to join the friendly team in Leicester.

What will I be doing?

You will be supporting adults from 18 years of age with a range of activities. These will include everyday living needs, such as assisting with medications, supporting with health and medical appointments, through to the lighter side of life: bowling, swimming, going out for walks, listening to music, going into town, shopping or out for meals. A lot of the fun happens on the move, so you must be a driver. Don't worry you won't be racing between appointments. Your ability to drive unlocks the opportunities for them to do the things they really enjoy.

On occasion, you will provide emotional reassurance and support to help people manage their behaviour, but we'll give you full training so you are aware of how to approach these situations should they arise. There is also some personal care involved with these roles, and one person is a wheelchair user.

Join us and support and empower adults with learning disabilities to live lives that makes sense to them.

It would be helpful if you note the sort of hours you're looking for when you apply: e.g. part time days and evenings/nights. We can be very flexible whether you are looking for 5 days a week or only one.

It's not just the people who we support that we care about. Looking after our employees' wellbeing, job satisfaction and career prospects is part of our DNA

" I started a career in domiciliary care as I wanted to help people. It was frustrating having to walk away from people who needed my support. I'm glad I have discovered MacIntyre and the chance to go home happy at the end of a shift knowing that I have made a difference" Feedback at a recent MacIntyre careers event

"Please note, we are currently unable to offer sponsorships as we await further guidance from the Home Office. Applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered at this time. We appreciate your understanding."
