As a senior Support Worker/Team leader, you will provide support to residents living in our supported live in house. You will be part of the team to assist our service users to live their lives the way they want to, safely with person centred care. Part of your role will include advocating for residents where appropriate. This could include helping people to arrange and attend meetings such as GP and probation appointments, or accessing other substance misuse services.
Working flexibly on a rota basis, the role may involve covering evening shifts and weekends..
About you
- You will have 3 years minimum experience working in a support role, but we will provide you with the knowledge and training you need to work with clients in a holistic and person-centred way.
- You are compassionate, energetic, reliable, and committed to improving the health and wellbeing of those experiencing homelessness and rough sleeping.
- Patience and resilience will come naturally to you. You should have good interpersonal and listening skills as you will be supporting people with challenging mental health problems and behaviours.
- Above all, you will be enthusiastic and have a genuine desire to support people to transform their lives.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage a team of Support Workers, ensuring they provide high-quality care.
- Develop and implement care plans based on individual service users needs.
- Communicate effectively with service users, their families, and the care team.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance resident satisfaction and overall performance.
Skills:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- In-depth knowledge of supported live in care practices and regulations
- Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual service users needs
