About the role

Cherry Meadows (part of the St Luke's respite service) provides Respite and Supported Living services for adults with a learning disability. Our aim is to support and empower service users to enhance their quality of life, maximise potential and to continue to develop and promote independent skills within their own home, in the Respite service and in the community.

St Luke's can support up to 6 people, and we have two 6-bedded Supported Living bungalows and are regulated by CQC. And are rated overall outstanding for supported living. There are 2 vacancies one at Cherry Meadows based in our Wyton service which has 5 individual flats and the other at St Lukes based in the supported living service that has 6 beds.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for two permanent Support Workers to work 37 hours per week who are motivated, enthusiastic and creative team players committed to providing high quality support.  You will need to be confident to undertake personal care tasks and have a willingness and capacity to work with people who may challenge. There is also an opportunity to work additional hours as a relief Support worker to meet service needs. There is also a requirement to work across services including both respite and supported living to meet service needs.

Staff will have the benefits of regular supervision, annual appraisals and excellent training opportunities including face-face training and access to our new grey matters training portal. To attend staff meetings which are held once a month.

You will be required to work a mixture of shifts, early’s and lates. You will also be required to work every other weekend. Enhancements are paid for unsocial hours and weekends.

About you

No formal qualifications are essential, but there is a requirement to complete an induction which includes the new care certificate and all mandatory training which will include E-Learning modules. A willingness to undertake a qualification in social care is also essential.
