About Our Client:Our client is a well-established care organization in Derby, committed to providing exceptional support services for children and young people. They specialize in offering care for those with learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral difficulties (EBD), Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE), and challenging behaviors.
Role and Responsibilities:As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in creating a safe and supportive environment for children and young people. Your responsibilities will include:
- Building Positive Relationships: Foster trusting and positive connections with children to create a nurturing environment.
- Learning and Development: Implement individual care plans, focusing on the learning and developmental needs of children with learning disabilities.
- Challenging Behaviors: Skillfully manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors in a composed and professional manner.
- Safeguarding: Vigilantly ensure the safety and welfare of the children, promptly identifying and reporting any concerns.
- Collaboration: Work closely with multi-disciplinary teams, including social workers, therapists, and educators, to deliver comprehensive support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent.
- Proven experience working with children and young people with learning disabilities, EBD, CSE, and challenging behaviors.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varying hours, including weekends and evenings.
