78632 - Surveyor / Auditor

This surveyor/auditor will report to the Project Manager and will work within Network Operations based in our Bury St Edmunds office. You will be a permanent employee in our UK Power Networks team.

You will attract a salary of £41,203 dependant on experience and a bonus of 3%.

If you are successful, you will need to undertake a medical and DBS reference check

Job Purpose

Your role will be to undertake site-based audits on completed works by UK Power Networks staff and Contractors. Ensuring that UK Power Networks policy, processes and build specifications are adhered to. The audit includes verifying data accuracy and completing of as laid/as built drawing, Asset forms and associated site construction information.

Duties

  • Liaise with Project Managers and Field Managers to ensure good working relationships.

  • Liaise with other delivery functions to ensure the smooth running of Distribution Capital Delivery works.

  • Proactive approach to customer care.

  • Usage of electronic systems to order and return stock.

  • Usage of electronic systems to request services for operating the site

Experience

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of UK Power Network design standards and procedures for overhead and underground network configurations.

  • To be experienced and have in-depth knowledge in the field of low voltage, 11KV and 33KV overhead & underground construction methods and maintenance.

  • UK Power Networks competency certificate.

  • Familiar with UKPN IT devices and systems, specifically Network Records and ART processes.

  • Able to complete self-risk assessments

  • Ability to work on own and as part of a team.

  • To be prepared to train and learn new skills to be able to carry out the full range of duties.

  • Ability to build good working relationships within their own team and developing wider working contacts.

  • The ability to communicate effectively, with many individuals,.

  • Current valid driving licence

  • We are looking for practical experience of the electrical distribution network and associated business processes. However, more importantly we are looking for strong organisational skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple deadlines, strong safety focus, strong interpersonal skills and commercial awareness.

Employees need to be aware that for some craft and operational roles that work at height, or use fall arrest devices, there is an upper weight limit of 116Kg due to maximum safe working load of the safety equipment that is used.
