What will the successful candidate be doing:
Our working environment is fast and dynamic, and the successful candidate will need to operate within a complex business with multiple stakeholders, having the ability to build collaborative internal and external stakeholders’ relationships to coordinate and facilitate integration of Sellafield Ltd’s sustainability principles across its business ecosystem, supporting interaction with the right tools and systems.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Sustainability & Supply Chain Development, the Sustainability Analyst will have a broad understanding of measuring and managing environmental and social impacts in a commercial context, supported by deeper knowledge of one or more areas such as net zero, supply chain sustainability, social impact or environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting.
The Sustainability Analyst will be responsible for researching, analysing, and reporting on sustainability markers and indicators for Sellafield Ltd. In light of this, the Sustainability Analyst should be a well-rounded individual – Agility, Integrity, Respect and being Team Orientated are paramount and the ability to be a self-starter and to take personal ownership of multiple agendas, whilst delivery to the highest levels of quality is essential.
The role requires some travelling within the UK, to support engagement and integration of sustainability across Sellafield Ltd’s business ecosystem (indicatively and non-exhaustive list include: supply chain events, sustainability events, conferences, etc).
The Sustainability Analyst’s role is to develop, measure, and monitor, all the metrics associated with the engagement and integration levels of sustainability across Sellafield’s business ecosystem, including internal and external stakeholders.
This can include central sustainability metrics, as well collation of departmental metrics (ie environment, social, supply chain, People, Projects) to ensure alignment, and consolidated view of Sellafield’s corporate sustainability progress, dismantling the complexities around governance, compliance and targets, and also defining and building the processes, systems and frameworks that will help Sellafield’s teams to report their sustainability targets and have transparency and visibility on individual and corporate sustainability progress.
The Sustainability Analyst will engage with the supply chain and corporate governance to align and support the internal and external reporting requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Experience working on sustainability teams
- A working knowledge of Green House Gas (GHG accounting and net zero principles, the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Social Value metrics, and most credited environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting frameworks
- Experience of working with large datasets and the ability to synthesise & interpret data into meaningful and material conclusions.
- Intermediate to advanced spreadsheet skills, SAP, TOMS (or relevant), Power BI, & the ability to learn new technology applications.
- The Sustainability Analyst needs the capacity to work on multiple projects simultaneously within tight deadlines, and to interpret insights from data to identify risks and opportunities and engage internally with the right stakeholders where the dependency and association is identified.
- Excellent oral and written skills as applied to presentations and written reports.
- Monitor sustainability platform usage and update usage dashboards on a periodic basis.
- Provide data from the platforms to support specific business requests.
- Export data from the IT platforms and carry-on in-depth analysis.
- Production of high-quality analysis reports.
The Ideal Candidate:
