Job description

I’m recruiting a Sustainability Officer for a renewable energy company located in Tipperary that has the capital backing, the development experience, the Agri network and the gas trading expertise to become the leading producer and supplier of biomethane in Ireland. 


They are committed to working with farmers, local communities and stakeholders to deliver a sustainable biomethane sector, which will contribute to rural economies and help achieve Ireland’s decarbonisation targets. 

It has the exciting company culture of a start-up with great growth potential, but its management team have over 100 years of collective experience in the RNG/agri sectors so it’s sure to be a major player in the sector.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be supporting the group's Sustainability strategy, working closely with the Business
Units management teams.

- Support the sustainability agenda throughout the Business.

The main duties and responsibilities of the role will include the following:

- Identify and implement a set of KPIs that are directly relevant to the companies activities and facilitate the reporting of Scope 1,2 and 3 ESG
performance

- Set up a reporting dashboard based on industry best practice, and report periodically to internal and external stakeholders on progress.

- Carbon Management/Life Cycle Assessment- establish and assure data sources, collate, calculate, and analyse carbon intensity factors for
planned and operating facilities

- Develop a Marginal Abatement Cost methodology that allows the company to assess and subsequently track the financial effectiveness of ESG
activities

- Support and advise technical teams in the execution of sustainability initiatives for carbon neutrality, water stewardship, nutrient management,
energy conservation and community involvement . Monitor and report on predicted and actual sustainability performance.

- Correlate data and report compliance to standards and regulations such as ISCC

- Train or organise training for staff as necessary on Sustainability, responsibilities and issues arising.

- Translate the technical topics into laypersons language and articulate the value of sustainability.

- Development of policies and processes that will support our sustainability goals.

- Liaise with various internal and external stakeholders in relation to Sustainability activities, encouraging behavioural change throughout the
business.

- Assist Management Team with adhoc projects as required
