We are currently looking to appoint a People Advisor to join our team. This role will involve working with managers to mentor, coach and advise them in relation to employee relations queries taking into consideration a range of information to discover creative solutions. The role will also involve working with local management teams to discuss people related performance matters and update them on emerging employment law and POD policy. You will also be required to undertake analysis of data to identify any key trends and identify positive solutions.
The role will work on an hybrid approach, including working from the POD base at Force Headquarters, Carbrook, with our customers across the Force area and working from home. The position will be Force wide covering areas across South Yorkshire therefore individuals must be flexible and be able to travel across sites as required.

Skills and experience:
The successful candidate will therefore have previous experience of working in a generalist HR function and will be educated to CIPD level 5 or hold an equivalent qualification or significant previous experience. The individual will have the ability to use different influencing methods and stakeholder management with an understanding of the importance for a customer centric approach.
In addition, this individual will have a strong understanding of employment law, and an awareness of pending changes in legislation, how to apply it and how to identify and mitigate risk.

Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity. A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.
