Role: Performance Analyst

Department: Performance & Governance

Location: Carbrook House, HQ, Sheffield

Salary: £29,874 - £33,915

Hours: 37hrs

Contract Type: Permanent

 

Role Purpose:

An exciting new role has become available with South Yorkshire Police.  The post of Performance Analyst sits within the Performance Management Unit which is an established team covering all aspects of data reporting and analysis across the force. 

As part of this role, you will examine data covering the varying crime types which impact South Yorkshire and conduct analysis to enable us to determine patterns in offending and assist in producing problem solving plans to tackle crimes like Residential Burglary.  You will also explore a wealth of data relating to crime investigations covering areas like forensics and suspect management.

This role lends itself to flexible and agile working which includes a mix of home/office work and flexible working hours.  Our comfortable Headquarters office offers a modern workspace with free onsite parking or easy transport links with the tram station being a short walk away and close link to the M1.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce analytical reports and presentations to support strategic change within SYP including monthly, quarterly, financial year, rolling year and ad hoc management Information as required.
  • Help to develop innovative ways of extracting data to feed into analytical products.
  • Present reports and findings to senior staff and officers, to ensure they are kept updated on areas of risk.
  • Commit to develop personal knowledge and skills in the field of performance analysis.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria, which must be taken into account for individuals applying to work with South Yorkshire Police in any capacity.  A minimum checkable history of 5 years is required for this role and successfully undergoing recruitment vetting procedure is a pre-requisite of employment with South Yorkshire Police.

This role has been evaluated as a Hybrid role.

Fixed: This is a traditional arrangement, applicable when the work is mostly required to be undertaken at a fixed single place of work (on police premises) for most of the time.  The work can only or is more effectively delivered from a police premises or other agreed organisational/partner premises.

Field: This applies to roles that do have a base, however, due to the nature of their duties is required to travel to other locations. Due to the nature of these roles, they cannot accommodate flexible working from home on a permanent basis.

Hybrid: Applicable when the work can be undertaken at any location, whether that be a SYP building or from home.

Closing dates are not normally extended, other than in exceptional circumstances and agreement is made between the Talent Acquisition Manager and the Line Manager for the role.
