We are looking for a Cognos and Power BI Developer to join the team who is passionate about data and analytics, with a strong track record of designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful BI solutions, reports, and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • BI Solution Development: Design, develop, and maintain Cognos and Power BI reports, dashboards, and Data models to support business needs.
  • Data Integration: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources to ensure accurate and consistent reporting.
  • Performance Optimisation: Optimise and tune BI solutions to maximum performance and reliability.
  • Data Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
  • Data Governance: Ensure data security, quality, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for BI solutions, data sources, and ETL processes.
  • Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to maximise the value of BI solutions.

Education and/or Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience in developing Cognos and Power BI solutions.
  • Proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and ETL processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Knowledge of best practices in BI development and Data visualisation

Desirable:

  • Relevant Cognos and Power BI certifications
  • Experience with data warehousing and cloud-based BI platforms.
  • Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning concepts.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific tools and technologies.
