Our Vacancy
We have a vacancy for a System Electrical Technician to join our team at the National Hyperbaric Centre. This is an exciting role, responsible for responding to the service of our diving products and services. As our System Electrical Technician you will undertake the installation, testing and commissioning of Dive Sat systems and Dive equipment onboard dive support vessels. You will also ensure that all electrical issues relating to the main fixed dive system and associated equipment are always held in a state of readiness.
What you’ll be doing
- Carry out Dive systems Planned maintenance on all assets including PHRF, LSPs, and ancillary supporting equipment etc
- Carry out any dive systems unplanned maintenance / breakdowns when required.
- Support hyperbaric Rescue operations and training exercises.
- Adhere to all relevant IMCA DESIGN documents. Do 18 / 23 / 24/ 63 and 53
- Offer flexibility in any Rota and shift work required to assist with trials, testing / periodic verification trials and workshop activities.
- Assist in maintaining and the repair of client owned equipment as required.
- To be familiar with and adhere to the company QHSE process and procedures and their requirements
Knowledge, Experience and Skills
- Recognised proven skills in an Electrical or Electronic discipline
- Knowledge of QA and Health and Safety within the work environment
- Be able to read and understand technical drawings, datasheets, and written work Instructions
- Completed a recognised apprenticeship or training programme in a Technical discipline to a minimum of SVQ qualification (or equivalent nationally recognised qualification) or has equivalent industry experience
- Knowledge of Domestic/ Commercial Electrical / Installation and/ or Electronic PCB/ Control circuits
- Basic Mechanical aptitude
- Have solid computer skills and be able to use Microsoft office packages.
