Systems Administrator/Engineer

A new role has opened with a Central Government Department in Reading.

This is a 12 month contract, and the role is principally concerned with 2nd/3rd line technical support on Mission Critical System applications and is an exciting opportunity to support and maintain the systems currently in use in a major Government Department.

The role requires a good understanding of IT environments, including but not limited to Virtualization, Application Servers, Cloud Technologies, Network Principles, and monitoring tools such as SCOM.

The role is fully on-site, though there might be some flexibility, depending on business needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support
• Manage incidents and problems through to closure
• Form part of the Application Support on-call team
• Be responsible for the upgrade and patching of applications

Requirements:

• Good knowledge or experience in application management
• 2nd/3rd line support and incident management experience
• Working knowledge of Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
