Systems and Control Engineer

Control Systems Engineer / Systems & Applications Engineer / PLC Engineer / PLC Applications Engineer required to join a global engineering company.
 The successful Control Systems Engineer / Systems & Applications Engineer / PLC Engineer / PLC Applications Engineer will be required to visit customer sites across the South with a willingness to travel throughout the UK, when necessary.
 
The Control Systems Engineer / Systems & Applications Engineer / PLC Engineer / PLC Applications Engineer will be involved in the delivery of projects, maintenance of control systems, as well as providing routine and on-demand customer support. This includes software development and documentation of automation systems, distributed control systems (DCS) and quality control systems (QCS).
 
The successful candidate will have DCS, QCS, SCADA, Siemens, PLC, HMI, HIMA knowledge with experience in process control / automation / power generation / marine environment.

Role
Provide routine and on-demand customer support including software development.
Involved in the delivery of control and automation projects within the process industries, including paper, power generation, marine and others.
Maintenance, inspection and breakdown services on control systems / DCS (Distributed Control Systems) / QCS (Quality Control Systems).
Diagnose, repair and maintain electrical and instrumentation systems.
Support with software development and documentation.
Provide the Operations Team with project and commissioning support on large-scale capital projects.
Liaise with various engineering departments.
Field-based, commutable to customer sites across the South such as Portsmouth, Farnborough, Southampton, Reading, Guildford, Basingstoke, Slough, Oxford, Swindon, Bournemouth, Watford and Alton with a willingness to travel within the UK, when necessary.
 
Requirements
Experience as an EC&I Engineer, Controls Engineer, Control Systems Engineer, PLC Engineer, Automation Engineer, Instrumentation Engineer, Systems Engineer, Systems & Applications Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Applications Engineer or similar.
Working knowledge of industrial automation systems, such as DCS, QCS, SCADA, Siemens, PLC, HMI, HIMA, or similar PLCs.
An understanding of distributed control systems (DCS), quality control systems (QCS), QCS, etc.
Ideally based in the South such as Portsmouth, Farnborough, Southampton, Reading, Guildford, Basingstoke, Slough, Oxford, Swindon, Bournemouth, Watford and Alton with a willingness to travel – other locations would be considered.
engineering or science qualification such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Aerospace, Physics Chemistry or similar would be beneficial.
Full UK driving licence.
