Tax Compliance Associate

The role

We are looking for a Tax Compliance Associate to join our client’s team. You will be responsible for managing the monthly VAT requirements across our EMEA network, providing assistance to the EMEA Finance team in the identification, administration and reporting of EMEA VAT compliance, and supporting the International Tax Manager in reviewing our processes and records kept for all Cross Border movements. You will also support the International Tax Manager with general tax matters and provide day-to-day tax support, including completion of Double Tax Treaty certificates related to withholding tax.

Key accountabilities

• Manage the monthly VAT requirements across our EMEA network to include VAT returns, VAT payments/refunds and supporting intrastat declarations. • Provide assistance to the EMEA Finance team in the identification, administration and reporting of EMEA VAT compliance. • Support the International Tax Manager in review of all processes and records kept for all Cross Border movements. • Support the International Tax Manager with general tax matters and provide day-to-day tax support, including completion of Double Tax Treaty certificates related to withholding tax. • Maintain indirect tax technical awareness across relevant jurisdictions and work with the local finance teams to ensure any changes are implemented. • Work with the International Tax Manger to implement One Stop Shops for e-commerce platforms and Realtime reporting as required. • Build and maintain strong and effective relationships with client facing colleagues in our Commercial and Operations teams. • Develop and apply global processes for APAC indirect Tax Compliance.

Qualifications needed: • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline. • Working towards CTA qualified or breadth of knowledge equivalent to CTA or similar internationally recognised qualification. • Strong VAT technical knowledge and experience in Global indirect tax matters, particularly covering EMEA jurisdictions and in cross-border services. • Basic understanding of accounting principles and experience with Navision Accounting Systems is ideal. • Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out review and know when to refer upwards. • Analytical and highly numerate
