I am working with a fintech challenger bank, who are looking for a Tax Manager to join the team. It is a mixed tax role, managing the direct and indirect tax compliance and internal advisory tax services for the bank.
The main responsibilities are:
Tax compliance:
- Produce regular returns including CT, VAT, PSA and seek ways to improve and automate the reporting
- Point of contact for HMRC and the bank's tax advisors
- Point of contact for the bank's external and internal auditors in relation to tax matters
- Ensure that the VAT PESM and transfer pricing methodology remains appropriate as the business rapidly scales
- Assume responsibility for the bank's R&D claims
- New product tax implication assessment
- Setting and communicating tax policies
- Year end reporting
Tax Advisory:
- Monitor and report on relevant changes to tax legislation and accounting principles and their impact on the business
- Provide pro-active advice to management on all aspects of applicable tax management and planning
- Provide advice in relation to product development and corporate development activities such as forward flow agreements, portfolio purchases and M&A
- Responsibility for the tax elements of the bank's financial forecasts
