Smart Education is thrilled to collaborate with an outstanding SEMH school in Birmingham, and we are actively searching for a dedicated Maths Teacher to join the team immediately. This is a part-time position with excellent subject knowledge requirements and a focus on teaching from Year 7 to GCSE level.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): The successful candidate must possess QTS and demonstrate a passion for teaching mathematics.
- Good Subject Knowledge: We are looking for a Maths Teacher with a strong command of the subject and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to students.
- Part-Time Schedule: The position is part-time, from 10 am to 12 pm, five days per week, offering flexibility for a balanced work-life schedule.
- Experience with Challenging Behaviour: The ideal candidate should have experience working with challenging behaviour, creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Teach two classes daily, with each class comprising approximately 7 students.
- Conduct 55-minute lessons from Year 7 to GCSE level, adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of SEMH students.
- Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment that encourages student participation and academic progress.
Requirements:
- Excellent subject knowledge in mathematics.
- Proven experience in managing and teaching students with challenging behaviour.
- Passion for creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Enhanced DBS: All applicants must possess an Enhanced DBS check on the update service to ensure the safety and security of students.
- References: The successful candidate should be able to provide 24 months of professional references, with a minimum of 6 months spent working in a UK school specifically supporting challenging behaviour.

Salary: £23.67 - £28.62 per hour
Hours: 10.00am – 12.00am per day
