We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate and inspiring Teacher of Music to join our thriving department. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the teaching of the curriculum and will also need to have first-rate keyboard skills, primarily as a pianist, though an ability to play the organ or bring related piano experience (such as in music theatre, rock or pop) is an advantage. There would be opportunities for chamber music coaching and orchestral conducting for interested candidates.
We welcome applications from experienced teachers, those on a PGCE, or complete beginners: teaching experience is not required.
The School’s salary scale is substantially above the national scale.
Further details can be obtained from the School’s website: www.stpaulsschool.org.uk via the ‘Work with us’ link in the footer, or by email from the HR department on: recruitment@stpaulsschool.org.uk
The Director of Music, Mark Wilderspin, would be happy to talk to any interested applicant and answer any queries. He should be contacted in the first instance by e-mail at mdw@stpaulsschool.org.uk. Applicants without significant teaching experience (for example, not currently enrolled on a PGCE course) are strongly recommended to contact Mark Wilderspin to arrange a visit to the School or a phone call in advance of the interviews.
The closing date for applications is 9am Monday 13 May 2024.
Interviews will take place on Thursday 16 May 2024.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service.
