Job Description: Teaching and Learning Support Level 3/SEND

About the Position: Veritas Education is recruiting on behalf of a local Blackburn with Darwen Primary School for the role of Teaching and Learning Support Level 3/SEND. This position entails working with students in either key stage 1 or 2, providing support across various educational programs, including EAL (English as an Additional Language), and catering to the diverse range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) within the school community.

Responsibilities:

1. Support Programmes: Implement and facilitate support programs designed to enhance the learning experience of students, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all.
2. EAL Support: Assist students with English language acquisition and proficiency, tailoring support strategies to meet individual needs and language proficiency levels.
3. Special Educational Needs: Provide specialized support to students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), collaborating with teachers and other support staff to implement personalized learning plans.
4. Individualized Learning: Work closely with students on a one-on-one basis, addressing their specific learning needs and adapting teaching methods accordingly.
5. Classroom Assistance: Assist classroom teachers in delivering lessons and activities, providing additional support and guidance to students as required.
6. Behavior Management: Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring the well-being and safety of all students.
7. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior, and support interventions, and provide regular feedback to teachers and school leadership.
8. Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills in supporting diverse learning needs and staying updated on best practices in education.

Requirements:

• Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support or equivalent.
• Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within a primary school setting.
• Knowledge and understanding of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting students with varying abilities and Learning styles.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students and the school community.

• Working Hours: 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
