Smile Education are currently working with a fantastic independent Special Educational Needs school in the Nottinghamshire countryside. This school is dedicated to supporting and educating children with diagnoses of Autism and related conditions. The school is currently on an improvement journey, and they are looking for enthusiastic, experienced, and proactive Teaching Assistants to play an important part in this process.
Key Highlights of this Teaching Assistant Role:
- Engaging and supportive environment within a small, independent SEN school
- Supporting students with Autism and related conditions
- Full-time, long-term role with an immediate start
- £80-£100 per day, depending on experience
- Providing one-to-one support and guidance to students
- Designing and implementing interventions to support children who need additional support
- Working alongside the classroom teacher, SENDCo, parents, and outside agencies, to ensure that the needs of all students are met
- Contributing to the preparation of learning resources
- Supporting the overall wellbeing and happiness of the pupils
- Helping to create an inclusive, warm, and supportive learning environment.
What are we looking for?
- Qualification in SEN/education/child development/ related (ideally Level 4, but qualifications such as degree will be accepted)
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN
- Good understanding of special educational needs and the challenges that children may face
- Proactive mindset, ready to take initiative and actively participate
- Driving license and access to a car is essential
