Introduction
This is a brand-new provision within Doncaster which will host up to 10 children with an education health and care plan (EHCP)which identifies Social Emotional and Mental Health as a primary need. This new initiative is to support children with additional needs to have access to a mainstream curriculum as when it is appropriate. You will be part of a team of four staff who will work alongside the mainstream teachers at McAuley High School and Nexus Multi Academy Trust to ensure the support, guidance and curriculum offer is appropriate to need. You will work in an attachment friendly way and believe in building positive relationships with all stakeholders. Experience in a SEMH alternative provision setting or a pull to children who are not coping within the mainstream setting is necessary. We want you to believe that SEMH children deserve the very best! You will be provided with lots of support, training and the opportunity to build something amazing with like-minded professionals.
Your Opportunity. You will
- Relevant Level 2 qualification.
- Experience in SEMH settings, Social Care or Mental Health.
- Have GCSE Grade C or above in mathematics or English or equivalent qualification.
- Be willing to undertake regular training and professional development as and when required.
- Have working knowledge of SEND Code of Practice 0-25 years.
- Have experience of working with children with SEMH including Autism in a mainstream, resource base or special school setting.
- Have the ability to understand and inspire young people.
- Remain calm under pressure.
- Be committed to supporting the aims of the academy.
