About the Role:
We are looking for enthusiastic and supportive Teaching Assistants to join various primary and secondary schools across St Albans. This role involves assisting in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the head teacher and class teachers.
Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of educational materials and programs under the supervision of the teacher.
- Assist in the preparation of learning environments, including setting up equipment and materials for lessons.
- Help manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and orderly environment.
- Provide targeted support to individual students or small groups to enable them to achieve their full potential.
- Participate in and supervise certain activities such as outings, social activities and sporting events.
- Aid students with special needs, ensuring they have equal access to education.
- Contribute to observation and assessment of student progress.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with children, particularly in an educational setting, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Patience, flexibility, and understanding of the educational needs of children.
- Relevant qualifications, such as an NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, are desirable.
- Eligibility to work in the UK and an Enhanced DBS check.
