About the Role:
We are actively seeking committed and caring Teaching Assistants to join various schools across Welwyn Garden City. This role involves supporting the classroom teacher, enhancing the learning environment, and ensuring students receive the guidance they need to succeed academically and socially.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing and setting up resources for lessons.
- Work alongside teachers to support students in their learning and development.
- Supervise students in the classroom, during activities, and at break times.
- Provide additional support to students with special educational needs (SEN) under the direction of the SENCO.
- Help manage class behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
Requirements:
- Experience in an educational or child care setting is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Commitment to professional development and learning.
- Empathy and resilience, with an ability to manage classroom challenges.
- An NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or similar qualification is preferred.
- Must pass an Enhanced DBS check.
