Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our EYFS and KS1 unit. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and supporting students in their learning journey.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing the classroom for lessons, including setting up and maintaining areas of provision, sourcing books and making resources;
- maintaining a safe and orderly working environment;
- teaching groups of pupils unassisted under the direction of the class teacher or independently;
- planning and delivering learning and enrichment activities, either with the class teacher or independently;
- working with small groups of pupils or individuals needing special attention;
- assessing pupils' progress and discussing development with the class teacher;
- supervising pupil groups on excursions and trips.
Must have:
- knowledge of English, Maths and other relevant areas of the curriculum;
- experience delivering phonics lessons and good understanding of phonics progression;
- computer literacy, including confidence in incorporating computers into classroom lessons;
- verbal and written communication, including active listening, for effective classroom instruction and understanding pupils' needs;
- inter-personal skills, including etiquette and social awareness, for working with pupils, teachers and carers;
- understanding of the expectations of the EYFS and KS1 Primary Curriculum and ideal learning outcomes
- initiative and the willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of an independent school and its ethos.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £14.00 per hour
