KS1 Teaching Assistant – Sittingbourne
Supply Desk are currently working with an Ofsted rated ‘good’ primary school Sittingbourne, who are looking for an energetic, approachable and adaptable Teaching Assistant to join their friendly, dynamic team. The school are looking for the successful candidate to join them on a full time, long-term basis until Christmas in the first instance, but there is every possibility this will be extended for the right person. The TA role will mostly involve general whole class support within a Year 2 class, but leading small group interventions will also be required each week.
Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the school’s Key Stage 1 team. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to support the learning and development of the students. This will mostly involve general whole class support within a Year 2 class, but leading small group interventions will also be required each week.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction and guidance of the class teacher.
- Help to organize and prepare teaching materials and resources.
- Support individual pupils and small groups with their learning.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Assist with the assessment and monitoring of pupils’ progress.
- Support pupils with additional needs, including those with special educational needs (SEND).
- Assist with classroom management and maintaining a safe and orderly learning environment.
Requirements
- Relevant qualifications (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent).
- Previous experience working with children, preferably within a school setting.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their educational development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
