The School Nurse service is part of Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Community Health Services aged 0-19 team. Our team is made up of specialist nurses, staff nurses and support health professionals. Our aim is to promote healthy lifestyles and prevent illness amongst school-age children and young people and deliver evidence based practice through the healthy child programme. The team offer universal, targeted and specialist health advice and work across Blackpool within schools, community clinics and family hubs. We provide support for children and families with complex needs and long-term illnesses such as diabetes and asthma. The team also deliver the National Child measurement programme, school health profiles and run the confidential 'Text Your Nurse' service. This role also offers management of the School Nurse single point of access and line management for our 0-19 safeguarding leads within the children's community health team. We work in partnership with outside agencies to promote the rights and educational needs of young carers.
