To support the training and education team by overseeing the delivery of the induction, training and assessment of all staff in the replenishment areas. To ensure that all staff are trained in the use of the computer system and liase with the pharmacy system manager as necessary. To act as a line manager and role model for allocated staff and identify training and development needs of those staff through annual appraisal accompanied by personal development plan. To be responsible for the performance management and sickness absence management of allocated staff. Participate in the recruitment and selection of staff working within the areas of responsibility To ensure that the Pharmacy service complies with Trust policies relating to health and safety including COSHH assessments, waste disposal, risk assessments, manual handling, and mandatory training. To manage the co-ordination of bonding hazard/drug recalls in accordance with the UHL Hazard Recall Procedure, ensuring they are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner. To be responsible for the development, preparation, updating and implementation of relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and working practices across UHL in conjunction with other site team leaders. To maintain dispensing and checking skills and to undertake dispensing in a UHL pharmacy department on a regular basis. To participate at a practical level in the full range of duties required of a Registered Pharmacy Technician, including prescription checking, patient counselling, cytotoxic dispensing, clinical trials dispensing, and controlled drug dispensing. To participate in late duty, weekend and bank holiday work in accordance with departmental rotas.
