With substantial additional investment to further improve and enhance our offer to our UASC care leavers, Teams Managers with the passion and experience in improving outcomes are sought to help us realise our aspiration of wanting the best for all the children and young adults who we support.The national increase in the number of UASC is reflected in the number of unaccompanied children that the Trust is also supporting, and it is in this context that we are increasing our social work capacity.The UK Border agency’s definition of Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) is children who are applying for asylum in their own right; separated from both parents; and are not being cared for by an adult, either in law or by custom. The statutory responsibility of the Trust is then to assess and support, which for the majority will be as children in care. You will have a skillset including commitment to a relationship based and solution focused practice model. Your leadership will support the needs of care leavers and will be trauma informed whilst being mindful of the impact adverse lived experiences.You will be joining a vibrant and committed management team rated Good in the recent Ofsted inspection. You will be a Social Work England registered social worker, bringing to the role a track record of working with children in care or care leavers.
