Job description

£3k relocation | £5k retention | Lower Tax | Beautiful Location | Slower Pace of Life

Team Manager Up to £74,559

Have you got to the stage where you just want something different? Perhaps your children have finally flown the nest, or you’re fed up with the English weather…maybe just fancy an adventure?

If you are an experienced Manager looking for your next adventure then this could be for you...after coming on leaps and bounds in their ongoing improvement journey, Jersey are looking to bring on board permanent staff - more relavantly for you, an experienced manager within their front door / Assessment & Support service.

The authority is going through a period of strategic change, with senior management who are dedicated to making huge improvements to a service that has acknowledged their previous failings and pledged to make a difference to the children and families under their care.

Not unlike the mainland they have referral and assessment, safeguarding, looked after children and fostering teams…they even have a new non case holding specialist edge of care team.

Depending on your circumstances you can have access to a host of support – be it the £3k relocation cost & dedicated relocation support from a private provider, £5k retention bonus.

As a Team Manager you will be joining a team that is a mix of locals, and other social workers/managers, like yourself, who have decided to have a change of scene on the island. You will be expected to have experience of supervision, chairing meetings, and actual team management within a front door/assessement service  – you will manage at least 2 practice managers who will each have a team of 6 social workers, so experience in management of sizeable teams is key.

The team makes a perfect community to ensure practice is ever improving with fresh ideas, alongside a support network of those who already know what it’s like to live away from home.

The islands are known for their massive tax benefits, beautiful scenery, and slow pace of life. If this sounds like something you could enjoy; along with the chance to have a huge impact on their children’s services then reach out to find out more.

As this is a statutory role, you do require a social work qualification & registration to Social Work England.
