Our Team Member (housekeeping) role requires flexibility to cover different shifts and tasks. It is an advantage but not essential that our Team Members (housekeeping) have worked in a face to face role with customers previously and experience in hospitality or customer service is desirable.
A knowledge and understanding of the core purpose of YHA and experience of working in a team are beneficial.
As our Team Member (housekeeping) role duties vary it is advantageous to be a good communicator, excellent timekeeper and have some basic skills in the use of IT. A food safety qualification is desirable but not essential.
What youll be doing:
Our Team Members (housekeeping) cover a wide range of customer facing and back of house duties across the hostel, delivering an excellent service to all guests and visitors, giving them a great experience of YHA.
Our Team Member housekeeping roles concentrate predominantly on the cleaning of our hostel.
Your day may range from:
- cleaning and preparing bedrooms between the departure and arrival of guests.
- cleaning all shower and toilet areas.
- keeping the hostel reception and social areas clean and tidy
- undertaking housekeeping tasks efficiently and effectively, ensuring levels of cleanliness are consistent throughout your hostel and taking a proactive approach to reviewing and maintaining standards
- complying with YHA requirements in the usage and storage of cleaning products.
- Reporting faults or damage to a member of the hostel management team.
- Sorting and distribution of used and unused linen
Its important to note that the role can be physically demanding; youll be standing for extended periods of time, required to make bunk beds and clean guest accommodation to a high standard.
You could work any days within the 7 day working week, 11am – 3pm as guide of the shifts you may be working.
