SalaryMy client, a fast-growing and exciting company based in Tewkesbury, is looking for an Internal Sales Engineer to join their team on a full time and permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will have an Engineering Qualification, but sales and technical experience will also be valued.
This is a crucial role for the smooth operation of my client’s sales office. The successful candidate will have a mechanical skill and competence, be proficient in using computers, and be able to show dedication to customers and colleagues. The main goal of the role is internal sales, which involves direct negotiation with customers, cost estimation, quotation, order processing, and follow-up of orders from customers, as well as providing technical and commercial support.

Role and Responsibilities:
- Taking responsibility for telephone calls from customers.
- Responsibility for technical and commercial customer specific troubleshooting.
- To prepare quotations against customer enquiries from cost prices. This will involve liaison with parent manufacturing company and sub-supplier costs.
- To provide back up to our external sales force.
- To observe and qualify customer purchase orders
- Resolve technical matters.
- Communication with the headquarters in Germany
- Deputise in case of holiday or illness in the internal office.
- To be literate in working with computers and computer based data. ( ERP & CRM systems)
Key skills required:
- Telephone sales skills: you will often be the first contact with the customer, so careful and caring questioning techniques are required to determine their real needs
- Engineering skills: you will need to advise customers of the options available to solve their problems, and the merits of each of the options
- Computers skills: we operate a sophisticated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and CRM system which covers everything from quotation through to manufacturing, shipping and invoicing which you will need to learn how to operate.
- Also experience with Microsoft Office and other general IT skills will be a requirement. AutoCAD experience would be a benefit but not essential.
- Working on one’s own and also part of a very dynamic team.
