Job Duties:
We are looking for a Technical Architect to work on our Transformative Digital Journey. Working with departments to deliver their vision and with the corporate centre to Transform the Authority. Adopting exciting new technologies and helping maintain and improve our more established systems. Leading a small team of TAs as well as working with Head of Technology at a more strategic level as we complete our move to Office 365 and deliver new innovative solutions.
To work with the business to develop digitally based solutions to real world problems, helping the authority to improve efficiency and our digital reach. Automation, workflow and the adoption of new technology into the way we operate.
Helping deliver the quality public services that Hertfordshire is known for in a new more efficient and digitally focussed way.
The TA team will engage at all levels from bespoke procurements to cloud engagements, researching and helping onboard new technologies and getting the most from our Microsoft investment.
Hertfordshire has just completed it’s digital strategy and will be mobilising to deliver business reengineering activity in line with the strategy.
You would work with both departmental and corporate centre stakeholders as well as with systems developers and infrastructure/end user service delivery teams.
Currently we have a migration to office 365 in full swing and a wider adoption of SharePoint online. We are looking at a data centre relocation and the implementation of Fire Service cloud-based control system. As well as a recent adoption of Power BI we are developing a data strategy. Also looking to adopt both cloud and on Prem solutions and support some large service contracts and some small BAU activities.
You would lead on the technical elements of these, working with other IT and System teams to deliver our goals …..and more besides.
Technical, Skills & Qualifications needed for the role:
Essential:
- Solid grounding in Microsoft technology both on prem and cloud (Azure).
- Knowledge of systems and workflow including digital transformational project experience.
- Wide understanding of the internet and associated technologies, the application of a wide variety of technical solutions to problems.
Desirable:
- Qualified Azure specialist and a good grounding in Cyber security.
- Scripting capability and coding experience.
- HTML and other internet technologies
- Virtualisation and Hybrid technologies.
