About your new role:
As part of our growth journey, NQC is searching for an experienced Technical Architect to take ownership of our technology strategy. The successful candidate will lead our talented tech teams such as Development, IT Security, Software Testers and UX to drive innovation and define our long-term technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Technical Architect, you will be required to undertake the following responsibilities as part of your day to day activities:
- Lead the technology roadmap of NQC, outlining the development of our infrastructure, architecture, security and product management.
- Overseeing the development and dissemination of technology for our external customers, vendors and clients.
- Promoting scalability and maintainability of our MACH architecture.
- Overseeing the research and development lifecycle of new technology and features.
- Identifying areas for growth and leveraging emerging technologies and trends to propose changes and updates to our existing tech stack.
- Ensuring our architecture adheres to best security practices and compliance regulations.
- Communicating between various functions of the wider business including project management, senior developers, leads and at executive level.
- Sit on the board of NQC’s directors.
- Ad hoc duties as required.
Requirements
To be successful for this role, you will ideally meet these requirements:
- Proven industry experience in a senior technology leadership role.
- A proven track record of successfully developing and implementing technology strategies that have driven business growth.
- A rich understanding of the development lifecycle, including software/Technical Architecture.
- Strong skills within any public cloud(s) - preferably GCP.
- Strong technical background in scripting, with a focus on JavaScript and PHP.
- Familiarity with working in an open-source Linux environment - preferably on SaaS.
- Experience improving processing with load balancing.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills across cross-functional teams, from development all the way through to directorship level.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and improvement.
- A keen interest in emerging technologies within software development, cloud-computing, APIs, microservices and security.
