Position Summary:
An respected provider of cloud-native SaaS business solutions, catering to both internal and external clientele, is in search of a Technical Architect. This pivotal role is dedicated to establishing best practices, ensuring interoperability, reliability, and addressing complex challenges. The successful Technical Architect will not be part of the development team but will instead offer valuable concepts and system designs, alongside conducting reviews on approaches, application designs, and implementations. The role extends to contributing towards strategy, security, infrastructure, and operations, marking it as a significant strategic position with considerable influence over product development and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crafting high-quality solution designs for systems/processes, embodying best practices.
- Investigating and solving strategic problems by providing proof-of-concept solutions.
- Maintaining and enhancing the architectural design for cloud products.
- Offering technical leadership and guidance across development teams, possibly including coaching and mentoring.
- Staying abreast of industry trends to guide the technical direction of development teams.
- Overseeing technical designs, ensuring software security, and contributing to infrastructure decisions and development processes.
- Engaging with stakeholders to promote best-practice technical solutions and liaising with third-party vendors for issue resolution.
- Providing senior-level support for production issues and conducting code reviews.
Essential Skills:
- A minimum of 10 years in development, with exceptional communication skills.
- Proficiency in C#, JavaScript, and modern development technologies.
- Experience with asynchronous processing, message brokers, and microservices, alongside cloud-native technologies, preferably Microsoft Azure.
- Expertise in API design, SOLID principles, database management, web application frameworks, and Agile methodologies.
- Strong understanding of OWASP, web security, source code management (e.g., Git), unit testing frameworks, and TDD.
- Demonstrated ability in system/solution requirements definition and interaction with Product Owners and Senior Management.
Location and Flexibility:
The core team is based in Northampton, yet the role offers the flexibility to work remotely. Monthly or bi-monthly visits to the Northampton office are encouraged to foster collaboration.
