Technical Business Analyst

Term: Permanent 

Hours: Full time (35 hours per week) 

Salary: £52,975.56 - £55,764 per annum, basis experience 

Location:  We have hybrid working in place, with 1-2 days per week, in our office in Canary Wharf. 

What exactly will you be doing?  

As a Technical Business Analyst within the Project Management Office (PMO), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful execution of projects by bridging the gap between business requirements and technological solutions. 

Major objectives  

The primary objectives of this role are: 

• To ensure proper support for all projects and continuous improvements from a business analysis perspective at key points in their lifecycle. 

• To evolve the business analysis capability within the PMO and support its vision of becoming an enabling business partner to the organisation. 

• To undertake the duties of a Functional Business Analyst, with a focus on developing technical solutions that align with the organisation's processes, systems, and needs. 

• To support strategically relevant projects with high-quality business analysis, capturing and articulating business requirements across the organisation. 

• To produce technical specifications, artifacts, and data-driven insights to support decision-making while considering the needs of students, training providers, employers, and the community. 

What are we looking for?  

• Expertise in functional/Technical Business analysis techniques, system design, process modelling (BPMN), and impact analysis models (POPIT). 

• Knowledge of project management methodologies (agile, waterfall, hybrid) and ability to explain how technological solutions meet business needs. 

• Proficiency in producing technical artifacts, documentation, and using data analysis tools like SQL, Excel, Tableau, R, and Python. 

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and process analysis tools like Visio. 

• Ability to read/understand code for effective communication with development teams is desirable. 

• Strong communication, collaboration, stakeholder influence skills across all organisational levels. 

• Understanding of long-term and short-term perspectives, with independent working and time management capabilities. 

• Problem-solving skills and high attention to detail. 

• Substantial experience in functional/Technical Business analysis, delivering analysis for major projects/programs. 

• Experience in requirements gathering, documentation, workshops, UAT coordination, cost/benefit analysis, process improvement, and options/impact analysis. 

• Professional Business Analyst certification (CBAP/PMI-PBA or equivalent).
