The Technical Co-ordinator role
Responsible for briefing, managing, and driving external consultants, obtaining building control approval, discharging planning conditions and producing construction drawings to enable efficient site starts.
Always promoting the Company in a professional and organised manner. Punctuality and tidiness are essential.
Key Duties
Reporting to the Senior Technical Manager you will manage a site from design stage right through to post completion, in line with the delivery programme. This will include liaising with relevant statutory and local authorities and other internal/external stakeholders as required.
A confident and effective communicator, you will liaise with engineers, landscape designers, and sustainability consultants, coordinating information to ensure consistency across all design elements, and that buildability is considered throughout. You will also be required to attend monthly site progress meetings and brief all departments on matters relating to design and regulations.
We are looking for someone with…………
- Qualified to HND level or higher in Design, Construction or Civil Engineering
- Minimum of five years’ experience in a technical role within the housebuilding sector is desirable but not essential
- IT literate with experience of using AutoCAD, Outlook, Excel, Word & Zutec
- Strong understanding of Building Regulations, NHBC Standards, Party Wall Awards, and associated construction industry legislation
- Good design skills with the ability to interpret drawings and technical demands of others
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Sound commercial acumen, articulate and calm under pressure
- Strong people skills, able to work as part of a team or in isolation and manage external working relationships
- Organised and self-motivated with a willingness to take ownership of projects
