Job description

Location: London or Winchester. Arqiva operate a flexible hybrid working model with travel required to either London or Winchester twice a week.

Salary/Package : Up to £64,000 + 10% bonus

Driving Licence: Yes

Accountabilities:

  • Accountable as key interface for vendors and supply chain in the Utiliites Hybrid Communications technical deliveries.
  • Support customer engagement, scoping, planning, and leading the execution of proof of concepts, trials and pilots.
  • Collaborating with technical SMEs in aiding the adoption of the Hybrid communications product set.
  • Engage with the product and architecture team to ensure design compliance of solution.
  • Use established delivery framework to drive, schedule and manage Technical Delivery as per implementation plan.
  • Define the scope, goals and deliverables for the project.
  • Define the tasks and resources required to deliver the project and produce a comprehensive project plan establishing project timelines, dependencies and critical paths
  • Identify and assign the project team members, both direct and virtual, required to deliver the project, agree allocation of activities and manage delivery throughout the project lifecycle
  • Manage the project budget allocated
  • Manage customer relationships and interactions across the project, providing regular progress reports and responding to customer feedback
  • Track progress against project deliverables and report progress to all stakeholders
  • Use defined Arqiva processes to manage changes to project scope, risks, issues and overall project governance
  • Deliver an effective project handover to the customer, ensuring capability to maintain agreed standards of performance
  • Evaluate each project against its scope and objectives and produce a Project Closure Report
  • Identify 3rd party suppliers and ensure their standards of delivery, product specification and documentation are aligned to project requirements
  • Drive innovation, both small and large, into and through the business; deploy and evidence with outcomes, a continuous improvement (CI) mind-set
  • Bring a commercial perspective to the operation, with a particular focus on cash management, cash preservation and optimising returns on investments made in assets and tools

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Engineering / HND or equivalent in Engineering or relevant experience
  • Minimum of relevant entry level project management qualification such as APM Project Management Fundamentals or Prince 2 Foundation

Experience/Expertise:

  • Track record of leading a team of multi-disciplined technical engineers in the delivery of complex solutions.
  • Ability to manage the allocation of Engineering resources to projects effectively and efficiently.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of project management lifecycles, project governance, methodologies/frameworks and processes.
  • Experience of risk and issue identification and management with internal teams or 3rd parties.
  • Experience of project change control and configuration.
  • Experience in the areas of Utilities technical deliveries.
  • Experience in working with suppliers – both developing new services/capabilities and driving 3rd parties to resolve and fix functionality issues and errors.

Technical / Professional Skillset(s):

  • Knowledge of technologies involved in Utility data collection, processing, and management.
  • (Radio Access Networks (Sensus), OSS (Comarch), • Knowledge of Cellular, data communication over cellular using LTE and or 5G, complimentary communications principles, system & technologies suitable for delivery of SCADA communications.
  • Working experience in Satellite Data Communications components including BGAN, Iridium and Inmarsat based products and their integration techniques.
