LOCATION: Irchester
HOURS OF WORK: Days – Monday - Friday (Hybrid working week)
BASIC SALARY: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum.
ADDITIONAL BENEFITS: Pension with employer contribution, Health Care scheme and Death in Service after a qualifying period.
Are you a Designer looking to take on a new challenge? If so, we are recruiting and are looking for an individual just like you! This is more than just a design role - you will play a pivotal role in the technical development of bespoke projects.
Due to expansion my client are looking to add to their current workforce, and now have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced Technical Designer to join their team at their production site just outside of Irchester (you will need transport to access the site).
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Developing new product concepts through extensive research and testing
- Optimising existing products and bespoke designs to increase manufacturing efficiency
- Creating technical (manufacturing) drawings for the workshop team
- Preparing quotations for maintenance and remedial works
- Producing accurate setting out/layout drawings for site teams
- Liaise with sales and design teams, offering technical advice
- Conduct site surveys and consultations where required (will be accompanied by senior member)
In order to be successful it would help if you had:
- Design or engineering related degree
- Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills
- A knowledge of wood based products
- A thorough approach and attention to detail
- Experience with 3D design software (Vectorworks/AutoCAD preferred)
- Commercial awareness and time-management skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently
- Positive working attitude
- Desire and willingness to learn and continually develop
- Understanding of joinery production and workshop tooling (not essential but a big plus)
