About the Opportunity
Jacobs is committed to playing a leadership role in Global Energy Transition. Our UK and Continental Europe team is growing and we're looking for an Technical Director within Generation to help provide support to projects across Jacobs' markets.
The role will:

• Take a leading senior role in the Project Team, responsible for all engineering aspects related to the development of generation projects. This involves overseeing the technical aspects of the project.
• Act as the key interface between the projects and the Engineering and Construction teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Collaborate effectively with other project team members, particularly Project Managers and Consenting and Environmental teams.
• Our Energy and Power team provides a range of services to our generation clients. This includes work on HVDC interconnectors, energy storage systems, inertia systems, wind farms and advanced facilities for mission critical industries in the technology and process sectors.

Work-life balance and flexibility is a key focus area for Jacobs. Our core Energy and Power team is based across Jacobs' offices in London, Birmingham, Reading, Bristol, Cardiff, Glasgow, Dublin or Exeter. Here's What You'll Need:

• A degree in a relevant Engineering discipline is required, providing a strong technical foundation, especially in understanding interfaces in large EPC(I) projects. Candidates holding HNC/ HND qualifications and proven ability will also be considered
• The candidate should have considerable experience in a relevant or similar field of work. This might include experience in complex EPC(I) construction projects or large infrastructure projects, with a preference for direct experience in the development of Energy Generation projects.
• Experience from Project Inception to FID
• Demonstrable experience in leading, motivating, and managing teams of consultants is required, indicating the need for strong leadership and team management abilities
• Membership of a recognized professional institution /organization
