A highly successful family run engineering and manufacturing business in Oxfordshire are looking to add a new Technical Engineer to their growing team. This is a varied and interesting role with lots of customer interaction, creating specifications for innovative bespoke solutions for the aerospace, automotive and defence industries to name a few.
Technical Engineer key responsibilities:
- Responding to customer inquiries, particularly those requiring technical discussions, which may involve off-site visits and occasional international travel.
- Reviewing and reporting on quality issues and failures internally to the Operations Manager and Quality Engineer, as well as to suppliers.
- Inspecting and measuring products and establishing inspection criteria as needed.
- Providing guidance on sales prices and mark-ups, especially for high-volume or prototyping situations.
- Offering direction and structure to engineering projects and product development for the engineering and sales teams.
- Creating drawings, datasheets, and CAD renders for various purposes including manufacturing drawings, technical documentation for customers, instruction manuals, and advertisements.
The ideal Technical Engineer will have a solid background in bearings design and be comfortable dealing with customers across a range of industries. CAD skills are important, as are the ability to multi task and work to tight deadlines.
