Our market-leading client in Guildford seeks a Technical IT Team Leader to join their growing team.

My client is a UK-wide group of ICT experts enabling businesses to work smarter through technology. They specialise in the design, implementation, and support of a range of Cloud services and business applications including I.T. managed services, I.T. infrastructure support, hosted collaboration, and mobile communication solutions.

Technical IT Team Leader - What will you be doing day-to-day?

The Technical Team Leader is?responsible for technical supervision and line management of the project and field support engineers. They will have hands-on technical skills and experience across a range of information and communications technology. They will help and support the technical staff to ensure that they have the appropriate skills and training, and are fully equipped to provide outstanding services to our clients.

The successful candidate will work with the wider team on projects, and will also assist the service desk as required.

Technical IT Team Leader - Overview of the role:

  • Manage PDP/technical training plans and ensure engineers are technically proficient in the company product portfolio
  • Ensure day to day processes for support engineer visits are maintained and followed.
  • Projects, be point of escalation for technical issues and challenges
  • Projects, manage technical sign offs
  • Assist with design & scoping of new business
  • Undertake on-site technical support and repairs at customer sites
  • Deliver projects installing hardware, software and networks
  • Assist with network, security and systems audits

Technical IT Team Leader - Personal attributes:

  • You will be able to work both under direction and on your own initiative, prioritising jobs as required.
  • You will be an approachable and supportive Team Leader, providing technical guidance and help as required.
  • You will be keen to learn and gain experience with new technologies and their use in an education environment.
  • This role requires regular working at client sites. You will need your own transport and a willingness to travel.
  • You will be organised and keep systems and documentation up to date.

Technical IT Team Leader - Qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar Technical Team Leader role.
  • Experience of working with and supporting a range of information technologies. Essential:
    • Microsoft technologies: 365, Azure, Windows, AD, Server, Hyper-V
    • Networks: network switches, wireless networks, routers, cabling infrastructure, firewalls
    • VMWare

Desirable qualifications:

    • Microsoft certifications
    • Ruckus Networking Certifications
    • HPE Aruba ACSP
    • Cisco CCNA
    • Certified Wireless Network Administrator (CWNA)
