An up-and-coming family run food manufacturing business are looking to expand further, incorporating a Technical Manager into the team to drive standards across the site.
Overview
The role is with a food business producing products to major retailers. As Technical Manger the ideal candidate is a hands-on, factory-focused food professional. The role would suit a tried-and-tested Technical Manager, or a QA Supervisor / Assistant Quality Manager who is ready for a step up.
Role Responsibilities
Reporting to the Managing Director the Site Technical Manager’s duties will include:
- Managing the day-to-day activities of the technical team on site.
- Ensuring the HACCP system is adhered to and managing site audit schedules to ensure compliance.
- Liaising with customers on quality issues and co-ordinating customer visits / audits.
- Proactively communicating information to the business on technical performance.
- Managing training of the QA team and technical training of site colleagues.
Candidate Profile
- HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4 preferred but not essential.
- Proven track record in quality in UK food manufacturing
- A working knowledge of BRC
- A strong QA background.
- The ability to take ownership of a technical function.
